H. Moser & Cie.’s Swiss Icons Watch Controversy

Some people just can’t take a joke.

Yesterday H. Moser posted this year’s installment of their novelty watch they create for SIHH now yearly.  It references (no pun intended) a few other major watch companies’ trademark features:

  • Rolex Pepsi bezel colors
  • Patek Philippe garage door dial + logo
  • Girard Perregaux tourbillion bridge
  • Voutilainen hands
  • Audemars Piguet bezel shape
  • Hublot Case
  • Panerai type and crown guard

Today Moser posts this on their Instagram:

In case you were wondering what happened to the Swiss Icons Watch…

This is truly sad.  These huge companies clearly have a problem with someone having fun “at their expense” even though quite a bit of money would have gone to a good cause.  It’s supposed to counterbalance their annoyance.  Everyone makes out.  Everyone has a good time.  Someone ends up with a cool watch.  I’d like to know which if the big companies whined to H. Moser.
